a danish podcast thats focused around communication, and all that jazz - I spoke the nerdy words about drupal and the freedom that open Source gives us, and why a community is so importan - and off course a loooong rant of why this Drupal thing kicks more ass than a tarantino movie. If you understand danish it should make sense... or maybe not:

This was a really cool an 1 hour talk rant about design in drupal our run for drupalcon, and all kinds of nerdyness - im kinda surprised how much I really talk, it seems sometimes that I forget to breathe...

One thing i hope that really comes through this podcast is the major asset that a community is around an open source project like Drupal. Later that night, after the interview was done I went to a an Octoberfest party at my officespace there Rune (a 3D developer who do's "3D for the price of 2D" -hows that for a slogan!) came with a pretty icecoold observation:
...The big problem with open source is: "what you're gonna do if the community around it breaks down and disappear" Then its kinda loose its value...
I think he kinda hit that nail of how why the Drupal community is growing bigger & stronger. We know that without the power of the rest of the community youre less, but if you put you piece of knowledge in then you can just drink from the hose of information (as dries so nicely puts - if youre in the room with a lot of clever people you will seem to be a lot smarter than you really is)
So by talking with respect and being nice to each other and dont start dumb ass flamewars about whos got the biggest d.. eem best code, and dropping the Frat boys attitude, were actually growing as an active community - how awesome is that :)
The Run for DrupalCon Copenhagen continues
As some might now the danish drupal community is right now working hard to get the Drupalcon 2010 or 2011 to be in Copenhagen. If you dont know why were pushing so hard this, well then you need to read the proposal for copenhagen personally I think that the ideas we put together here is gonna be a good idea catalog for other drupalcon & camps in the future. Thats one of the reasons were sharing this.
Now theres a week till we know whats gonna happen in 2010 & 2011 and if the community thinks that we can handle the job. Today we "won" the peoples vote for 2010 (that vote i ranted about last week) which off course is a thing the team is very proud off. To get 363 people to actually take a position on something a year or 2 out in the future is pretty amazing (taking into account that it was only on a page burried deep down in g.d.o and it got us fired all up, i still think its BS to have these votes.
But now we can say "The People want it in copenhagen 2010" (it was a 53 - 47) - and the votes for 2011 isnt done yet. But you have lies and you have statistics...
Well at least we had fun with it, and i hope "ze germans" & the english gentlemen had as much fun in mobilizing people behind their proposal as we did. Still voting's like this is BSWell whatever theres gonna happen I for one is very satisfied with the work we have done so fare, and we kicked down the doors to a couple of important news media:

The design community in drupal is slowly showing its precense, so if you wanna be a part of this and see the theming, design & frontend coolness growing you now have the chance we are an open group of very devoted Drupal front end nerds.
Theres 2 importent new spots for this group that you need to check out:
oooh and while beeing on the whole topic about design.. and yes iknow its not drupal (the horror the horror)... But its GPL so its okay ;)
Matt mullenweg (the wordpress dude) have some pretty clear ideas about the whole GPL thing & themes which I think are pretty cool so check it out its on video n stuff Isnt that the way we should push the Drupal theming community?
